The purpose of all our research-related activities is to better understand the views and concerns of OU students, so that the Association can identify what students need from us and how we can take their interests forward within the University.

The research process involves student representatives and volunteers at every stage, as we consider new topics to explore, encourage student participation on different channels, and share the findings with students and OU staff members.

Monthly Insights Monthly highlights series that give a snapshot of student data that the Association gains from the Annual Student Membership Survey, which informs all Association decisions and services.
Your guide to research and insights We undertake independent research at the OU Students Association to explore different aspects of the student experience. Our research projects are a way for us identify how we can improve your student experience.
Annual Membership Survey The Annual Membership Survey takes place each autumn and is a fantastic way for all OU students to feedback on each area of the Association’s work.
National Student Survey The Students Association undertakes analysis of OU students’ feedback to the ‘student union’ question in the National Student Survey.
Event evaluation We regularly look at the events and activities that the Association supports to ensure they are kept relevant to your student experience.
