Hi, I’m Clare, Chair of the DSG. I live in North London with my husband, two dogs, one of which is blind and diabetic. I have fibromyalgia, endometriosis, an autoimmune condition and some gastroenterological health problems. Currently studying year one of my MA in Music, previously graduating from the OU with an MSc in forensic psychology and criminology, before that a BSc in sociology at Uni of Surrey. I am also a student representative for the Arts and Humanities Board of Studies and the Student Senate Reference Group.
I work as a project manager for North-East London NHS in primary care and transformation programmes, recently as project manager for the COVID Vaccination and Long Term Conditions Programmes. I also set up and chaired the NEL NHS Staff Ability Network running education sessions on sickle cell with the BAME network and sessions on neurodiversities with a launch which included a session with Amar Latiff on living your best life with disabilities and an all-staff session on fibromyalgia. I am currently still a menopause advocate. Out of work I play saxophone & flute and spending time with my dogs and husband plus with mum going to galleries and museums. It’s an honour to represent a great group of students and I can’t wait to meet you all and work with everyone.
