This October, the Association is marking Black History Month by highlighting a range of resources, events, films, exhibitions, podcasts and book lists. These have been gathered to celebrate Black communities and to showcase the richness of Black history and culture – not just for this month, but as an ongoing celebration.
The OU has also curated some special events, which you’ll find featured in the link below:

We have highlighted support services and opportunities available for Black students at the Association and the OU. All events curated by the OU BME Staff Network will have ‘OU BME STAFF NETWORK’ stated in bold.

This year’s theme for Black History Month, 'Reclaiming Narratives', focuses on amplifying stories that have been misrepresented or overlooked. It’s a call to correct historical inaccuracies, celebrate untold successes and embrace the full complexity of Black heritage.
