The OU Students Association has won the Charitable Initiative of the Year Award at the Inteclads End of Year Awards.

The Association has been given the award jointly with Redemptorist Publications, a religious publisher based in Hampshire.

The award celebrates the impact of organisations who, according to Lee Jones, Operations Director of Inteclads, “combine e-commerce excellence with meaningful charitable efforts. It recognises their dedication to making a difference beyond the business world, supporting causes that uplift communities and create lasting change”.

Lee Jones added that the Association has “exemplified how e-commerce can be a powerful tool for good through spreading knowledge and fostering student empowerment”.

“We applaud their tireless efforts and the positive impact they have made in the lives of so many. Thank you for inspiring us all with your commitment to charitable endeavours!”

Keith Minter, Digital Platforms Officer (Technical) for the OU Students Association, said:

“We at the OU Students Association are very proud to have been nominated and presented with this award! This is the result of an excellent team effort, and we continue to do our best to collect and contribute funding, via a number of sources, to OU students experiencing financial hardship. Our web store has played a significant part in this initiative, and I am sure it will do so for a long time yet!”

Inteclads is a web design and software development company based in Pontypridd. They manage the back-end of the Association’s student shop webstore.
