The OU Students Association has obtained a commitment from the Open University to include student representation on interview panels for the recruitment of senior staff positions.

The commitment will be included in the Relationship Agreement between the Open University and the Students Association, and formalises the involvement of students in the OU’s recruitment processes.

Students Association President, Margaret Greenaway, said “This is important because there are many positions within the Open University that can influence the student experience, so we want to be sure that student needs and interests are central in the recruitment of certain positions.

”It’s a great reflection on the Open University that they’ve been so willing to write this into our relationship agreement with them.”
