At the Students Association, we have a Student Leadership Team who represent students, and influence all levels of decision-making within The Open University. As part of the team, you will attend relevant meetings, work together with fellow SLT members on projects and campaigns, and fulfil the relevant tasks listed within the role description while experiencing a unique and empowering journey.
No previous experience of working with the Association is required. You just need to:
- Be a current OU (Open University) student.
- Be enthusiastic.
- Be willing to learn.
- Have ideas about what you would like to do if co-opted.
We also don’t expect volunteers to have prior work experience within professional roles relating to advertised positions. The Association is a welcoming space for people to grow and learn in. Full training would be provided if you were successful, and a friendly staff team will be around to answer any queries you have and support you throughout your term.

You will ensure the interests of OU students are represented in discussions within the OU Students Association, the OU and with wider stakeholders.

Average 5-15 hours per week
Training available
You will receive a thorough onboarding and training events in the first month of your role. This will include an opportunity to meet the wider team at the Association, as well key contacts at the OU.
