    Peri / menopause

There is no actual guidance, advice or information for women suffering with the peri or actual menopause as this can seriously affect you when trying to study as it gives you bad brain fog, lack of concentration along with lots of other things. I asked my tutor if there was anything in writing for this and was told she wasn't aware of any and to speak to student support which I did and was told that there was nothing set us for this and to contact my tutor. Something does need to be done so that students can talk to someone or be signposted to help for the symptoms whilst studying as there are things in place for so many other things but not this naturally occurring thing that women have not choice to go through.

9:20pm on 12 May 23 I was also thinking about this and totally support it and agree something does need to be done, the sooner the better this is my hope.

9:31pm on 12 May 23 Similar to Beverley I fully support this as well. This appears to have been overlooked in many aspects of societies and this change has been long overdue in history. It is about time that the feminine sphere are validated and perceived as equals in both non-conflict and conflict situations that guarantees safe access to support for hormone fluctuations across the lifespan from a compassionate and active listening lens. I hope that this will support students to achieve their best with advice to help minimise the disruption to cognition performance.

9:59am on 22 May 23 Thanks Kelvin your points are totally valid as not enough has been done for this subject despite some high profile women talking about their struggles it still does get overlooked.

11:21pm on 8 Jun 23 My pleasure Janine. Thank you that is kind. I agree, there is always more that needs to be improved to repair the past and create an increasingly equal and brighter less harmful future for all individuals and demographics that fully support everyone in the public and private spheres regardless of identities. Still today this tends to be as you mentioned quite rightly overlooked in many aspects of societies including careers and since 2019 this has potentially risen at a rapid rate with very concerning news across the globe including this nation.

2:35pm on 28 Oct 23 It is a subject that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later. There is a lot of taboo and embarrassment associated with ladies and their circle of life and age. For too long has it been discussed never, or too little. It should be changed to a time of positivity and a more healthy connection made to the menopause.Even the name has a certain amount of dred attached to it, it is too clinical. It should have a name change to something more appealing and represent overcoming challenges, the gentle advancement of a ladies life, a time of great reflection and celebration. After all we all  eventually move to an area that  represents respect and it needs to be a  nurturing a place where knowledge can be shared and bring enlightening thoughts and new mind paths for all.
